# Take a course

> Open lessons, complete work, and finish a course.

After enrolment, open the course from **Courses**. This is the lesson viewer (the route is named preview for historical reasons).

  <Step title="Pick a lesson">
    The sidebar lists modules and lessons. Locked drip lessons are visible but not openable yet. The viewer starts on the first lesson you can actually read.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Learn">
    Read blocks, watch video, download files, take quizzes, submit assignments. Opening a lesson records a view.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Complete">
    Use **Complete and continue**, or let a passed quiz / finished video complete the lesson when that is enabled. Progress is saved per enrolment.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Finish the course">
    When every lesson is done, the course is complete. If the course issues certificates, completion is what unlocks that.
  </Step>

You can leave a rating and a testimonial from the course or Help Center feedback. Ratings show on the course once there is at least one review.

<Tip>
  Staff can **View as student** from a course to walk the same viewer, with or without tracking their own progress.
