# Students

> Add learners, tag them, and inspect progress.

Staff with directory access use **Students** to see everyone enrolled in the academy as a learner.

## Add a student

    Sidebar → **Students**.

  <Step title="Add student">
    Enter name and email. They are attached to this academy as a student and notified that they can sign in.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Or let them enrol">
    If they enrol from a public course, they join the academy themselves. You do not have to pre-create them.
  </Step>

## Tags

Open **Students → Tags** to create tags. Enrolling in a course also attaches that course’s tag automatically so paid and free enrolments stay tagged the same way.

## A student’s page

Open a student to see courses, progress, tags, and whether they have signed in. **Edit** changes name and email. **Remove** takes them out of this academy after confirmation.

Progress for one course is under **Courses → that course → Learners → that person**.
