# Get started

> Create an academy, publish a course, and enrol a learner.

This walkthrough takes you from a new account to a published course that a learner can enrol in.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Create your workspace">
    Open [rittly.in/signup](https://rittly.in/signup). Enter your name, email, and password, accept the terms, then confirm the 6-digit code emailed to you. You are signed in automatically after the code matches.

    On the hub (`rittly.in`) this creates a **creator workspace**. On an academy host (`your-academy.rittly.in`) this creates a **learner account** for that academy instead.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Open the academy">
    After sign-up you land in the app. Staff see **Overview** in the sidebar. Learners see **Courses** and never see Overview.

    If you belong to more than one academy, you are asked to choose one first.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Create a course">
    Go to **Courses**, then **New Course**. Pick **Rittly Editor** (recommended) or the **Quick wizard**.

    1. Add a title, description, category, and level.
    2. Create at least one module and one lesson.
    3. Write lesson content with slash commands: text, video, quiz, assignment, or file.
    4. Save a draft, or publish when the curriculum is ready.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Set how learners get in">
    Open the course, then **Pricing**. Choose free (enrol instantly) or a paid price. Paid enrolment needs a payment integration under **Integrations**.

    Open **Settings** on the course to choose drip (all at once, interval, custom schedule, or sequential) and whether to issue a certificate.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Share the public page">
    Published courses appear on the academy catalogue at `your-academy.rittly.in`. The sales page has **Sign in and enrol**. New learners can **Create an account** in the same popup, including the email code step, without leaving the course.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Invite staff or add students">
    Owners and admins open **Settings → People** to add instructors and admins. Use **Students** to add a learner by name and email, or wait for them to enrol themselves.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Check>
  You now have an academy, a course, and a way for people to join. Next, read [Roles](/getting-started/roles) so you know what each person can see.
